Woods Forest School

Forest School is a global educational approach that originated in the UK during the 1990s, inspired by Scandinavian play-based education. The Forest School Association defines it as a process that offers learners regular opportunities to develop confidence and self-esteem through hands-on experiences in natural environments.

Forest School promotes learning by focusing on children’s social, emotional, and developmental growth. It encourages children to manage risks, gain independence, set goals, and engage in active, experiential learning in nature.

Our learning site is located in Camarillo

We are permitted for each site. We are 100% nature based: our classes take place at parks, on trails and in open spaces.

TK/K Woodpecker Program

Our homeschool enrichment offers TK and K programs for new homeschoolers who want additional enrichment and outdoor learning for ongoing education. We offer opportunities and time on their own to explore their interest at their own developmental stage.  Our teachers bring their educational background outdoors and in nature where real wonder and a passion for learning inspires students for the rest of their learning journey.

Parent and me – Nature Play : Ages 0 – 5

All ages welcome. We offer this community gathering on Wednesdays from 9:30 am – 11:00 am. This nature-based outdoor program is designed to help you feel comfortable letting your little one explore nature while not intruding in their play. We will learn organic ways to teach our children about nature and cultivate confidence in ourselves and our children. Get to know our program one-on-one at your pace. We hope you love forest school!
