El Jardin Thousand Oaks

El Jardín is a four-hour drop-off Spanish immersion experience fort students TK-8th grade located at the amazing Conejo Valley Botanic Garden, in Thousand Oaks. The program studies thematic units, Spanish vocabulary, outdoor learning, sustainability, gardening, nature walks, and nature studies — all in a Spanish immersion environment. These are small group classes of up to 14 students per group, led by our amazing Spanish teachers (Head Maestra and Assistant Maestra).

Classes offered on Wednesdays and Thursdays, 10am to 2pm:

  • Pequeños (TK-3rd): Students learn new weekly Spanish vocabulary, letters, colors, and numbers; and they enjoy “dirt play,” gardening, art, story time, singing, and dancing — all in a Spanish immersion environment.
  • Secundaria (4th-8th): Students learn new weekly Spanish vocabulary, outdoor exploration, geography, note taking, reading, gardening, story time, singing, dancing, and art — all in a Spanish immersion environment.
  • We meet Wednesdays and Thursdays at the Conejo Valley Botanic Garden.
  • Come for one day or for both days! Families are strongly encouraged to come both days for better language acquisition.
  • El Jardín is a year-long program, with fall and spring semesters, with classes meeting from 9 am to 1 pm. Families must sign up for each semester separately.
  • Fall and Spring Dates:
    • Spring Semester ‘25 18 weeks: January 6 – May 23
      • Days Off: April 7-18
    • Fall Semester ‘25 15 weeks: August 25 – December 12
      • Days off: November 24 – 28
